Day 3 - Sunday Nov 5
We go ashore to visit the Trellis Bay Cyber Café to check e-mails. We have a message from Chris, our son in college that he is very sick. Well……are you going to live until we get back??? LOL We send him a note back and info Jennifer, his sister that she needs to be a Mom for the next week. (what great parents we are!...oh by the way, he is 21 and sis is 27) We leave Trellis Bay and head towards Gorda Sound, the northernmost part of the BVI. Along the way we stop at George Island to snorkel. On our second attempt to anchor, I look behind us and there is a dinghy in the distance……and we are missing ours! We had run over the dinghy painter (tow rope)! A boat of Europeans jumped into their dinghy and rescue ours while we finished anchoring. I tied the two ends of the dinghy line together and we went snorkeling. Snorkeling was great. Water was crystal clear and Sharon had a great time as well. She had not snorkeled in 14 years.
We headed on to Gorda Sound and caught a mooring in Leverick Bay. We went ashore in our dinghy and while paying for our mooring ball ($25) the manager of the marina met us. A proper British gentleman (although he was barefoot) who was "dreadfully sorry for the construction work being done to build a new pier". He informed us that we had the run of the place. They had a computer with a money machine attached to it that sucked down dollar bills at $.33 per minute for internet. So we log on to check on Chris. No news.
We had a nice dinner at the Marina and retired to the boat.
