Day 7 - Thursday Nov  9

Our last full day in the BVI.  We slip the mooring ball and head to Cooper Island.

We see a cargo ship going into Road Town. But what is it hauling? After getting the binoculars, it was loaded with sailboats! As we learned later, Sunsail moves sailboats from the Mediterranean to the BVI for the Jan-April peak season. Then they ship them back to the Med in April.

We had thought about going to Soper’s Hole for the night, but it would have been a long run back to Sunsail and we had to be there by noon. It was a pretty big sailing day and we arrive at Cooper Island about 2:30.  We were relieved to see several mooring balls available and we chose one as protected in the anchorage as possible.  We cleaned up and went ashore to the Cooper Island Beach Bar for some lunch and refreshments. Sharon had brought a skirt that she had not yet worn, so it was now or never. Unfortunately they were in-between lunch and dinner and would not be serving food until 6:30.  So we had a couple of “Cooper Island Dreams”, their pain killer equivalent on empty stomachs and went back to the boat for some appetizers before dinner. We ate dinner aboard since we had food remaining and enjoyed a beautiful sunset.  Sunsail had warned us that it could get “rolly” in there from the north swells and it was a little. Look at the great sunset pictures!
