The First Velux Boat Has Arrived!

Bernard Stamm  is the first to cross the finish line in Norfolk at 11:59:25 PM Saturday March 2. He sailed solo 48 days, 22 hours, and 59 minutes and covered 15,725 miles since leaving Fremantle Australia. He finished 3,000 miles ahead of the next closer competitor. NNSA members Mike and Kathy Barber, Fred Wright, Chuck Sparenberg and Mark Gallenstein were on hand to welcome Stramm to Norfolk's Waterside at 3:00 AM after towing the boat to downtown Norfolk and clearing customs. Norfolk (and NNSA assisting) will play host to Stamm and the other competitors as they arrive until the next leg begins April 15th with a sprint for Bilbao, Spain.

Sir Robin Knox Johnston Arrives!

An exhausted Sir Robin Knox-Johnston arrives In Norfolk after 75 Days, 18 hours and 43 Minutes. Once again, light winds and an outgoing tide delays the finish by over ten hours in the final miles.
